Digital currency forecaster Cryptorphic suggests that Bitcoin may climb to heights of $156,000 in the current cycle. Drawing on past cycles, the analyst makes a case for the potential of the premiere cryptocurrency to reach this unprecedented value.

Projected Path to $156,000 for Bitcoin by May 2025

Using an X (formerly known as Twitter) message as his platform, Cryptorphic announced that “Bitcoin could soar to $156,000 by May 27, 2025!.” The prediction is predicated on Bitcoin’s tendency to experience substantial rallies following each halving event. Historically, there has been no instance of a “red year” post-halving, instead, there’s a pattern of notable upswings.

Bitcoin witnessed an exceptional rally of 8,296% in the year succeeding the 2012 halving, an ascent of 288% post-2016’s halving, and a notable 536% increase after the halving in 2020. Using this pattern as a reference, Cryptorphic suggests that Bitcoin could see a 127% increase from its predicted 2024 halving price of $65,415, potentially reaching as much as $156,000 by the following year.

This bullish sentiment on Cryptorphic’s part is in sync with other specialists in the cryptocurrency ecosystem. For instance, Skybridge Capital’s Anthony Scaramucci has forecasted a peak of $170,000 for Bitcoin 18 months post-halving. Moreover, analyst Mikybull Crypto has identified a potential target range of between $138,000 and $150,000 for Bitcoin’s growth in the current cycle.

However, Bitcoin’s pinnacle may exceed the $156,000 mark, with predictors like Cryptorphic hinting that the apex of this surge in Bitcoin’s value might not occur until after May 2025. Rekt Capital speculates that the peak could fall around September or October next year, provided Bitcoin can maintain its current trajectory and mirror the historic halving timelines.

In the discussions of peak values, analyst PlanB has also thrown a prediction into the ring, suggesting a $1 million zenith for Bitcoin within this cycle, based on the Bitcoin stock-to-flow (STF) model.

Potential Rise to $81,000 for Bitcoin

Meanwhile, Cryptorphic forecasts a near-future potential for Bitcoin to ascend to $81,000. The breakout from a symmetrical triangle pattern seems to suggest a bullish trajectory. Should Bitcoin surpass the $73,000 threshold, this could propel the cryptocurrency upwards towards $81,000, according to these predictions.

Conversely, Cryptorphic hasn’t ruled out a bearish possibility, suggesting that if Bitcoin falls below $66,400, it could prompt a reversion to the $62,433 price level.
